Yesterday, a fully equipped 172 meter long floating block and four additional blocks has left CRIST for France. The L34 project implemented by CRIST is an element of the constant cooperation between the CRIST shipyard and the French shipowner Chantiers de l'Atlantique, in the construction of fully equipped blocks for the largest passenger ships in the world.
The L34 project includes one of the largest blocks of a passenger ship that has been built in Poland today. The dimensions of the floating block made in our shipyard are 172 m long and 40 m wide. The block will be installed in an EDGE class ship which will be ultimately operated by Celebrity Cruise.The entirety of the works performed in Poland consists of the aforementioned 172-meter-long floating block containing a part of the midship with a part of the engine room. An additional element is four smaller blocks that are stored on top of the floating block and will be attached to the floating block after delivery to France.
The weights nearly 9,000 tons of hull structure, has 46 km of pipelines (each type; from steel, to plastics, copper to GRP (glass fiber) pipelines. The scope of works performed by the shipyard includes comprehensive execution of 170 meters of technical rooms packed with equipment, pipelines and other ship systems such as electrics, ventilation or fire extinguishing systems. CRIST Shipyard has equipped these blocks practically turnkey, the shipowner is left to connect the blocks with other blocks and connect cables to the devices.

It required tremendous work from all departments, subcontractors, the classification society and the shipowner's inspectors.
