CRIST handing over more mega blocks of a passenger ship
November
2021
In November, another two mega-blocks were launched for the French shipyard CHANTIERS DE L'ATLANTIQUE with working numbers V34 and M34. These are the next blocks of huge dimensions in the series, built and fully equipped by CRIST.
The V34 block with a mass of 9,500 tons, dimensions 142x43m and the M34 block with a mass of almost 11,000 tons, dimensions: 171x40m are the largest mega-blocks of passenger ships built in Europe and most probably in the world.
It should be emphasized that the blocks are fully equipped with the standard of a finished ship (fully painted, installed devices, equipped with all ship installations, all installations completely tested to the highest standard, all fully certified).
The mega-block with the working number V34, which will sail to France on 11/11/2021, is part of a passenger ship for one of the largest shipowners - the MSC company, the name of the ship is: MSC EURIBIA and it will be one of the largest passenger ships in the world. It is worth noting that the ship will be a hybrid, powered by light fuel and LNG.
The part built by CRIST is a midship with a part of the engine room where specialized gas pipelines have already been installed, and in the next stage huge LNG tanks will be installed.
The project in numbers: a total weight of about 9,500 tons, 30 km of pipelines (all types: from steel, stainless steel to copper, fiberglass plastic and highly specialized LNG), 100,000 square meters of painted surfaces, 800 tons of all types of equipment.
The construction of mega blocks of passenger ships, machine parts in which CRIST specializes, is comparable to the construction of fully equipped ships, requires great coordination and the involvement of several hundred people every day in the construction process. This is another of the mega blocks provided by CRIST, the best proof of a job well done by CRIST is the satisfaction and appreciation of the representatives of CHANTIERS DE L'ATLANTIQUE and MSC.
