CRIST will build a partly outfited, large cable laying vessel

A large Nexans Aurora cable rig with a DP3 dynamic positioning system, will be created from the design and consulting office Skipsteknisk from Alesund. The ship will be adapted to work in difficult weather conditions, while maintaining high maneuverability and maintaining position. The advanced unit, 149.9 m long, 31 m wide and 17,000 t load capacity, will accommodate a crew of 90 people. It will be adapted to laying power cables, including laying cables in bundles, connecting them, repairing and protecting them. It will also be equipped with a basket for fiber-optic cable with a load capacity of 450 tons.
